Gamer's Asylum is a store for gamers of all types

Our focus is providing a space where miniatures, RPG and card gamers can come, play and get the supplies they need to enjoy our hobby. Though we love online and electronic games, there are plenty of places that 'do that.' Instead we wanted to focus on all the real world gaming types that involve a lot of human interaction and just plain fun.

Mark Peters (President and resident Rules Troll) - Mark has been gaming since he was 13 and saw Epic scale stuff in a Games Workshop store on South Street in Philidelphia. After talking to suppliers, gamers and other glorious geek types ("A club I'm proud to be a member of!" says he) he was determined that there was an opportunity to fill a void in the availability of quality gaming space by opening a store in Evanston. At which point he lobbied his dad (the Vice President, see below) and finally convined him that he had a great business idea that would also be lots of fun. "This shop is my home and my customers are exactly the people I want to hang out with."   John Peters (Vice President and Evil Mastermind) - John's fascination with gaming started while he was working in Maine and was reading William Gibson's Neuromancer. The whole cyberpunk universe seemed very cool to him. There was a game store in downtown Rockland, ME which had Talsorian's Cyberpunk and he was hooked. John was a DM for a number of games and then got transferred to Philadelphia. While there, the incident above (what incident?) led to him telling Mark, "you're too young for this stuff." "But Dad, you aren't." It was all downill from there. When Mark came to John to start the store, it just seemed like the right thing to do. "I've started four other companies, but none of them were anywhere near as fun as this." Now John and Mark have lots of armies, lots of books, and lots of everything else needed to totally indulge in gaming of many stripes.
